Reviver Auto, an auto technology company, is now selling its smart electronic licence plate in California, including a few in Los Angeles (L.A.). The plates are about the size of a standard plate, but they have the appearance of a tab.


Reviver Auto has previously signed licencing agreements in the United States to bring the smart electronic licence plate to roughly one-third of the country's driving population, including Arizona, Texas, and Florida, where it is already in use. The company has announced a new international agreement for a proof of concept programme of the smart electronic licence plate with the Dubai Road and Transit Authority, in collaboration with local distributor Team Target International.

Dubai is preparing to issue smart electronic licence plates. Seed Group, a Dubai-based investment firm, plans to roll out digital smart electronic licence plates throughout the region by the end of 2021. For the first time outside of the United States, Reviver's smart electronic licence plates, known as RPlate, will be introduced in Dubai. Furthermore, Seed Group is working to bring them to North Africa, South Africa, and Malta.


According to the India Brand Equity Foundation, Asia Pacific countries such as China, Japan, and India, for example, have the potential to be a large market for smart electronic licence plates. Furthermore, according to reports from the India Brand Equity Foundation, automobile sales in China reached 20 million units, the highest in the world, with 3.8 million and 4.2 million units sold in India and Japan, respectively.
